'Let It Grow' Campaign Begins Nov. 1
The Cherokee Marshal's Office will allow its officers to grow facial hair for 90 days if they donate or volunteer at their chosen charity.

CANTON, GA -- The Cherokee Marshal's Office is once again taking part in an initiative where deputy marshals and animal control officers can grow facial hair if they make give back to the community.
The Let It Grow campaign begins Nov. 1 and will wrap up Jan. 31, 2018. Authorized by Chief Marshal Ron Hunton, the campaign allows the public servants to donate $50 or volunteer eight hours of their time to a recognized charity of their choosing.
In return, these officers will be allowed to grow facial hair for the duration of the 30-day campaign (SIGN UP: Get Patch's Daily Newsletter and Real Time News Alerts. Or, if you have an iPhone, download the free Patch app).

The idea originated last year when a deputy marshal wanted to do something to make a contribution to the community during the holiday season.
"This is an excellent way to give back to the community and it’s for a great cause," the Marshal's Office said.
