Limited Boil Water Advisory Begins at 10 a.m.

Approximately 100 homes in the Steels Bridge/Bells Ferry Road area will be affected by maintenance work.

About 100 Canton homes in a very specific area will soon be under a boil water advisory due to planned maintenance work by the Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority.
A limited portion of Steels Bridge and Bells Ferry roads, including Sixes Road United Methodist Church, Wooten Road, Alex Street, Cherokee Point, Falcon Point Subdivision, Lemon Drive, and Lemon Trail will be affected.
Valve maintenance on distribution lines will cause the water pressure in the area to drop to potentially unhealthy levels due to backflow and back siphonage.
All residents that experience a loss of water service or a drop in their water pressure are asked to boil their water until further notice.
According to the Cherokee County Water and Sewerage Authority, to ensure your water is safe for consumption bring the water up to a rolling boil then let it boil for at least another minute.
The boil water notice will be in effect until the water is confirmed to be safe for human consumption again.
