Second Stabbing Suspect Turns Himself In To Police (UPDATE)
Canton resident Richard James Sheriff, 61, is accused of attacking his 45-year-old female roommate Saturday morning.

Canton, GA -- The man who police say attacked a 45-year-old woman over the weekend has been booked into jail.

Richard James Sheriff, 61, was booked into the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center late Wednesday evening, Cherokee Sheriff’s Office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said.
Sheriff is charged with aggravated assault under the Family Violence Act in the alleged attack on Claudia Santizo, who was his roommate at the time of the incident.

Baker said investigators believed Sheriff stabbed Santizo following an argument. She received non-life threatening wounds to her neck and arm, and was transported to WellStar Kennestone Hospital for treatment.
Sheriff remains held without bond at the jail.
