“The suspect then fled on foot into the wood line behind the shopping center,” Canton police said.
The man, 38-year-old Christopher Dewayne Price, was found several minutes later and arrested without incident. Price was discovered with the help of the Georgia State Patrol and the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Canton police added.
Sheriff’s office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said Price has been charged with two counts of misdemeanor obstruction of a law enforcement officer and one count of possession of methamphetamine.
He remains in custody at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center, Baker added.
