Man Dies in Truck Accident in Canton
BREAKING: The truck clipped a piece of equipment, which caused it to flip on its side and partially eject the driver.
CANTON, GA -- A 49-year-old driver of a pickup truck died Thursday afternoon when his truck overturned and partially ejected him from the vehicle.
Crews with Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services responded around 1:30 p.m. Aug. 11 to a home in the 300 block of Lacy Road, which sits off Bart Manous Road in unincorporated Canton.
When crews arrived on the scene, they discovered a blue Dodge pickup truck lying on its side behind the home.

Initial reports indicate the motorist drove the truck to a nearby lake, and as he was returning, the vehicle "clipped a piece of equipment, causing it to flip on the side."
The man, identified by the Cherokee Sheriff's Office as Ricky Lusk, was partially ejected outside the passenger side window and was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. Lt. Jay Baker with the agency said no one was with the victim at the time of the accident.

No other injuries were reported, and no other vehicles were involved. The Cherokee Sheriff's Office's Traffic Enforcement Unit is investigating the accident.
