Mandi Ballinger Named Chair of House Juvenile Justice Committee
The state representative will oversee the judiciary committee that works to protect and enhance the lives of Georgia's children.
ATLANTA, GA -- The Georgia House of Representatives’ Committee on Assignments has named State Rep. Mandi Ballinger as chair of the House Juvenile Justice Committee.
Rep. Ballinger, a Republican from Canton, will also serve as the secretary of the Budget & Fiscal Affairs Oversight Committee and as a member on Appropriations Subcommittee on Public Safety and the Information & Audits, Judiciary Non-Civil and Rules committees, the state house said.
“I am honored that Speaker Ralston and the Committee on Assignments have entrusted me with the leadership of our Juvenile Justice Committee,” said Rep. Ballinger. “I look forward to partnering with allied agencies and organizations to improve the lives of children across the state.”

The House Juvenile Justice Committee, formerly known as Children and Youth, is the judiciary committee over juvenile related issues. The committee was recreated during the 2013 legislative session and works to protect and enhance the lives of Georgia’s children.
The House Committee on Assignments, chaired by House Speaker David Ralston, is charged with making all House committee assignments for the members of the Georgia House of Representatives.
