During the early afternoon hours of Dec. 9, a 2014 Honda Pilot was trying to turn left on Camp Dobbs Road from S.R. 108. As it was trying to make that turn, a 2003 Acura MDX tried to pass the Pilot, but “due to oncoming traffic, it steered back into the eastbound lane and struck the Honda,” the Georgia State patrol said.

The driver of the Acura, 29-year-old Christa L. Murphy of Jasper “was suspected to be under the influence of drugs, but refused the test,” GSP added.

She was injured and transported to Piedmont Mountainside Hospital. The driver of the Honda, fellow Jasper resident Amberly W. Brown, 40, was also injured and transported to the same hospital.

Charges are pending in the collision, the state agency said.
