With the recent uptick in scams targeting senior citizens, the issue of implementing protection measures has once again moved to the forefront of the minds of law enforcement personnel.
In an effort to enhance the personal safety of its citizens and community, the Holly Springs Police Department is offering a free two-hour Choose to Refuse - Safe Citizen Seminar next month.

The seminar will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday April 21, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Holly Springs.
This program will present information on various topics, such as how to spot a fraud on the telephone or at your doorstep, popular scams, online scam/Internet risk prevention, protecting personal information, safe meeting places, securing your home, street safety tips and more.

Residents of all ages are welcome to attend and will benefit from the learning experience. Being armed with this knowledge is a great to add another layer of protection to your lifestyle, Holly Springs police said.
No prior registration is required, and the seminar is free to the public. The church is at 2632 Holly Springs Parkway in Holly Springs.
