Northside Hospital-Cherokee Comes To Aid Of Tennessee Wildfire Victims
Kim Chmielewski and Karen Mason were excited about the Christmas holidays - until Nov 23rd when the wildfire in Tennessee was discovered.
From FleishmanHillard: Kim Chmielewski and Karen Mason (both Northside-Cherokee employees) were excited about the approaching Christmas holidays - until Nov 23rd when the wildfire in Tennessee was discovered. Kim knew that a coworker, Arlene White, had a son who worked at Leconte Medical Center in Sevierville, Tenn. and that many of those employees were affected. Kim and Karen asked Arlene to reach out to her son for a list of needs, with the intention of organizing a support drive.
Championing Kim, Karen and Arlene’s idea, administration at Northside Hospital – Cherokee contacted LeConte Medical Center. Their administration informed Northside that their employees fared far better than others in the area and asked that Northside reach out to Park Vista Hotel as they had many families who were severely impacted
Northside Hospital – Cherokee partnered with Arlene’s husband and his colleagues at Quest Global Inc. to provide assistance to the identified a group of 29 hotel employees in Sevierville affected by the fires. All departments and several outpatient offices donated basic living items like linens, towels, dishes, and cooking utensils. They also purchased Christmas gifts for 49 children, including toys and clothing.

Arlene and her husband delivered the supplies and presents to Tennessee for the forest fire victims on Fri., Dec. 23.
