Northside Hospital Offers Free Cardio Screening in Cherokee

The screenings will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 8 at Northside/Holly Springs Imaging.

Northside Hospital’s Heart and Vascular Institute next month will offer a free screening to residents in an effort to determine risk for heart and blood vessel disease.

Cardiovascular disease remains the number one killer of Americans, according to the American Heart Association.

The free screening will take place from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday, Nov. 8 at Northside/Holly Springs Imaging, located at 684 Sixes Road Suite 100 in Holly Springs.

The comprehensive screening will be administered by health care professionals and will include a risk assessment, blood pressure reading, total cholesterol (HDL, ratio of TC/HDL) and glucose testing, body mass index (BMI) analysis and a one-on-one consultation with a healthcare professional.

A range of factors can raise a person’s risk of developing the disease and having a heart attack or stroke. The more factors a persons has, the greater his or her’s risk.
