Open House, School Walk-Through Sessions Start Next Week

The first day of the 2015-16 school year for the Cherokee County School District is Monday, Aug. 3.

The first day of the 2015-16 school year for the Cherokee County School District is fast approaching.

That means starting next week, parents will be able to visit their child’s school as part of the district’s annual open house/walk-through sessions.

Classes will resume Aug. 3, and each school’s front office will be open each day starting Tuesday, July 21. Parents and legal guardians of students new to the district can register these pupils at their respective schools anytime between 8 a.m. and noon.

Class schedules and teacher assignments will be available at each school’s scheduled open house/walk-through event. Specific walk-through dates and times are:

Elementary Schools

Arnold Mill ES

  • July 30: Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd (8:00 a.m.-10:00 a.m.)
  • July 30: 3rd, 4th, 5th (1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m.)

Avery ES

  • July 30 Kindergarten, 1st (8:30 a.m.-9:30 a.m.)
  • July 30 2nd, 3rd (11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m.)
