The Painted Pig Tavern Up For Sale

The announcement was posted Tuesday on the downtown Canton restaurant's Facebook page.

A downtown Canton restaurant is reportedly up for sale.

According to a post on The Painted Pig Tavern’s Facebook page, the restaurant space at 190 East Main Street is “up for sale/lease.”

The post notes the upper and lower levels of the restaurant can possibly be subdivided.

“[It’s a] great opportunity for anyone wanted to open a restaurant (or) bar,” the company wrote in its message to followers.

Along with operating as a restaurant, the Painted Pig Tavern also serves as a bar and art gallery for those looking for a place to grab a bite to eat while visiting the Cherokee County seat. It also regularly incorporates live music from local acts.

Owner Joseph Guynup in 2014 opened another business at 250 East Main Street. Dubbed The Study, the establishment also serves small plates, sushi and drinks in an atmosphere that resembles the Speakeasies popular during the early 20th century.
