Deputies with the agency responded to a home off Charles Road in unincorporated Canton around 7 p.m. Sunday, May 3. The nine-year-old girl told the deputies she was riding her bicycle near the end of Stover Drive when a vehicle puled up next to her, the sheriff’s office said in a press release.

The child said the driver allegedly asked, “Do you want to get in the car and go to a place?,” sheriff’s office spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker said. The girl told the man ”no,” and they drove away.

The men are believed to be of Hispanic origin, and the driver had a mohawk. Baker also said the girl described the men as muscular, had black hair and were wearing black shirts at the time.

She stated the vehicle was a black and red sedan with rust on it.

Baker said two other residents also observed a car similar in description — with two men apparently of Hispanic origin — driving along Stover Drive around the same time the incident allegedly occurred. They described the vehicle as a Toyota Camry that was possibly made during the mid 1980s.

Their description of the vehicle, however, was gray or blue with rust and “blemishes.”

Baker stated Stover Drive is a dead-end street “that has very little traffic and according to the witnesses, no Hispanics with that description live in the area.”

Sheriff’s office detectives used a sketch artist to create a composite drawing of the suspect driver, which was completed Monday afternoon.

Anyone who recognizes the suspect or has any additional information related to this incident is asked to call investigators at 770-928-0239.
