Program Unveils Civil War Stories in Canton, Cherokee County

Professor Kenneth Wheeler of Reinhardt University will be in Canton on Tuesday to discuss the Civil War in Cherokee County.

The professor will take part in the Cherokee County Historical Society’s October History Program, which will begin 7 p.m. Oct. 21 at the Rock Barn.

Wheelr has been digging into the documents and will describe the Civil War experience in Cherokee County using a variety of perspectives from children to Governor Joseph E. Brown.

The Rock Barn sits at 658 Marietta Highway in Canton. The program is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be provided.
