“Reinhardt’s presidential search has generated a wonderful pool of talented and well qualified applicants,” said Reinhardt Board of Trustees and Search Committee Chair William G. Hasty, Jr. “After extensive discussion, the search committee narrowed the pool of 70 applicants to the top eight, and last week we held two days of off-campus interviews with those selected candidates. We then narrowed that list to the top three we think will be the best fit for Reinhardt. We have dedicated a great deal of time to this process, and it was a real challenge because we had such an experienced and talented group of men and women to consider.”

Hasty added he wants to ensure that the campus visits are informative for both the candidates and students, alumni, faculty, staff and other stakeholders.

“The campus visits allow candidates and their spouses to meet people and learn first-hand about our university so they develop a real sense of the personalities, programs and facilities that make Reinhardt so special,” he said. “After our trustees, faculty, staff, students, alumni and community meet the candidates, we want them to share their impressions and be a part of this important selection process. We want to select the president who can best continue Reinhardt’s current path of student dedication, success and growth.”

Hasty noted the search for a new president is proceeding well, adding he believes each candidate ”brings a varied and rich resume of educational success, leadership and experience to the table.”

“Also all are very community oriented and are looking forward to promoting the many opportunities Reinhardt presents,” he stated. “To be so close to Atlanta, to have such a beautiful campus, and to have so many possibilities for growth, well, Reinhardt has a lot of potential.”

Anyone who meets the candidates is encouraged to provide feedback using a form on Reinhardt’s website by Jan. 21. Reinhardt trustees will use the input to select the institution’s next president in February.
