The boat owner stated the “boat began to take on water,” which forced him to swim to shore, the agency wrote on its blog.
The following day, Canton police said the boat was discovered roughly 20 yards off shore by divers with the Canton Police Department and the Cobb County-Marietta Water Authority.

The divers attached a cable onto the sunken boat, and it was pulled out by Mauldin’s Wrecker Service, the department said.
Cosby was cited for operating boat with insufficient personal floatation devices; operating a boat without required equipment; disobeying a posted notice prohibiting gas-motored boats; disobeying posted notice regarding requirements of paying ramp fees; disobeying posted notice regarding being in park after hours; and operating an unregistered vehicle without current plate.
The reservoir is located near the intersection of Fate Conn Road and Bluffs Parkway. It was built by the city of Canton on land leased to the city by Technology Park Atlanta.
