“Over the objection of taxpayers, Senator Brandon Beach sponsored $8 billion for MARTA funded with a 47-year sales tax increase for a rail line that wouldn’t be operational for a generation,” Barlow said. “We need a senator representing us, not the his lobbyists.”
Barlow is referring to Senate Bill 330, which would have allowed Fulton County voters to consider extending MARTA up the GA-400 corridor north of Sandy Springs. That bill died in the Senate before it made to the floor for a vote.
Barlow, who pledged to oppose tax increases and "protect religious liberty" by supporting the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, added he believed in conservative solutions to cut the "jobless rate through welfare and illegal immigration reform."
Barlow has spent his career in the private sector with companies such as Dell, The Boston Consulting Group and TransUnion. He has also worked with non-profit veterans and welfare-to-work organizations to help increase jobs across Georgia.
Aaron graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University and earned an MBA from Harvard Business School. He and his wife, Brenda, have been married for 17 years and have two daughters, Heidi and Kate. The Barlows live in Milton and are active in their local church.
