Ricketts Promoted to Deputy Marshal 1st Class

CANTON, GA -- A Cherokee County deputy marshal was recently promoted to the rank of Deputy Marshal 1st Class.

Deputy Marshal Richard Ricketts is the first officer to obtain this rank in the Marshal’s Office, the agency said Monday.

Ricketts was required to meet specific advanced training and perform community service not directly associated with his duties.

“Deputy Marshal 1 st Class demonstrates the leadership and values of the Marshal’s Office," Chief Marshal Ron Hunton said. "I am proud to introduce this rank to the men and women of the Marshal’s Office."
