CANTON, GA — The Rotary Club of Canton this week welcomed its District Governor for an official visit and inducted two new members.

District Governor Don Martin, a member of and past president of the Rotary Club of Jasper, shared a presentation focused both on regional District goals and the international service organization’s future vision.

Rotary International, while accomplishing numerous successes in its history, may be best known for its dedication to eradicating polio. Martin shared that polio now remains in only two countries – Pakistan and Afghanistan – and success in on the horizon.

The medley of some of the world’s most famous pieces of classical music drew a standing ovation and earned them a spot on the District Conference program.

Anyone interested in joining the club is welcome to attend a weekly lunch meeting at noon on Tuesdays at the Northside Hospital Cherokee Conference Center, 1130 Bluffs Parkway, Canton.
