The club on Tuesday presented the school with a $5,000 grant at its meeting Sept. 15 at the Northside Hospital-Cherokee Conference Center.
The grant, which is the third presented to the school by the Club since establishing their partnership, will be used to create a MakerSpace Lab at the school where students can learn vocational skills such as carpentry, electrical wiring and plumbing in addition to STEM subjects and innovation, as they bring designs they drafted to life.

In addition to receiving the grant, STEM teachers Dr. Judy Wright and David Cornn both shared an update on how students are learning in the AGUA (Aquaponics Generates Understanding and Achievement) Aquaponics Lab, which was funded by a $5,000 grant from the Club last school year and which Club members helped construct.
The lab includes a fish hatchery and hydroponics tables where vegetables and herbs are grown using nutrients created by the fish and other aquatic creatures.
