Suspects Charged With Trafficking Meth in Holly Springs

While meth continues to be the biggest problem by volume in Cherokee County, heroin remains the deadliest drug on the street.

HOLLY SPRINGS, GA -- Authorities seized more than quarter pound of meth, marijuana and close to a dozen prescription drugs in a raid conducted earlier this month at a mobile home park in Holly Springs.

Four people were arrested and charged with various drug offenses after agents with the Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad received a tip from a citizen expressing concerns about alleged drug activity at the Holly Mobile Home Park, which is at 4251 Holly Springs Parkway.

Agents launched an investigation, and subsequently arrested four individuals inside the residence.

Holly Springs residents Randall Holbert Galloway, 52, and Angela Yvonne Corbin, 40, and Pamela Marie Garrido, 46, of Powder Springs, have each been charged with trafficking methamphetamine.

Galloway is also charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of two types of Schedule IV substances and possession of marijuana with the intent to distribute.

Another man inside the home, 35-year-old Joseph Leon Donaldson of Canton, was charged with possession of methamphetamine with the intent to distribute, possession of a Schedule II controlled substance (hydrocodone) and possession of a Schedule IV controlled substance (carisoprodol).

CMANS agents seized more than a quarter pound of meth, over an ounce of marijuana and 11 prescription medications during the March 15 raid.

Meth continues to be the biggest drug problem in Cherokee County by volume, the agency added, noting it seized 47 pounds of the drug -- valued at $863,272 -- in 2016.

“However, heroin continues to be the most deadly drug we see on the street," said CMANS Commander Phil Price. "CMANS agents seized just over an ounce of heroin last year. The (Cherokee) County Marshal's Office has gathered statistical information which suggests that there may have been as many as 26 fatal overdoses in Cherokee County last year."

Price pointed out that the final tally will depend on toxicology results from the Georgia Bureau of Investigation's Crime Lab.

This citizen's tip is a prime example of how CMANS agents have to rely on the community to report potentially illegal activities, as they "cannot be everywhere to see what is gong on," Price said.

"CMANS agents work with every law enforcement jurisdiction in our county to make it difficult and risky to sell drugs here," he added.

The Cherokee Multi-Agency Narcotics Squad is a joint task force working in Cherokee County to investigate drug related violations.

Participating agencies include the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office, Canton Police Department, Woodstock Police Department, Holly Springs Police Department, Ball Ground Police Department, Cherokee County Marshal’s Office, District Attorney’s Office for the Blue Ridge Judicial Circuit, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and the Georgia State Patrol.
