The District’s 425 bus drivers and attendants were treated to breakfast provided by Credit Union of Georgia, a school district partner, at the bus shops in Holly Springs and Woodstock.
Every driver and attendant who attended also received a gift bag, with gifts provided by district partners, including the Chick-fil-A restaurants of Canton, Cobb EMC and Waffle House.

In addition to the event, many schools and PTAs planned special activities this week to thank bus drivers and attendants for all that they do.
Bus drivers, with the assistance of attendants, every day transport approximately 70 percent of the district’s student population --25,000 students each morning and 28,000 students each afternoon. Cherokee school buses will travel more than 4.5 million miles, or about 1,450 bus routes daily, this school year.
