Cherokee County School District spokesperson Barbara Jacoby said Hultquist is on voluntary paid leave of absence. She also said Hultquist “immediately complied with School Board Policy in reporting the incident.”
Effective Monday, Leticia Cline, a retired school district assistant superintendent and former principal, is currently serving as interim principal at Clayton Elementary School.
“She is a longtime educator who lives in the Clayton Community and cares deeply about the community and its children,” Cherokee County Schools Superintendent Dr. Frank Petruzielo said in a letter sent home on Monday to Clayton elementary parents.
The letter also informs parents the incident Hultquist was involved in did not occur on campus and was “not related to his CCSD duties or students.”
