Sequoyah Homecoming Parade Could Impact Traffic Flow

The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is asking residents to avoid the area of Hickory Road at East Cherokee Drive early Friday evening.

HICKORY FLAT, GA -- The Cherokee Sheriff's Office is reminding residents and motorists to avoid a major Hickory Flat intersection on Friday.

That's because Sequoyah High School will host its homecoming parade, which is scheduled to start around 5:30 p.m. Oct. 7, the agency said.

The road in front of the school at 4485 Hickory Road and Dean Rusk Elementary School at 2761 East Cherokee Drive will be closed from that time to around 6:30 p.m., the agency said.
