Service League Seeks Exhibitors, Vendors For Riverfest

The deadline to submit an application for the 31st annual Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival is May 1.

The organizing committee for the Service League of Cherokee County’s 31st annual Riverfest Arts and Crafts Festival is now accepting applications from fine arts and crafts exhibitors, gourmet product vendors and concessionaires for this year’s event.

For Riverfest 2015, the committee is looking to add new exhibitors; particularly desired are exhibitors offering handcrafted refurnished and new furniture including farm tables, as well as monogrammed items, fine art, handmade clothing (especially boys clothing), women’s accessories, children’s toys and other unique gift items.

The committee is also looking to add gourmet product vendors to expand the selection of product offerings with additional spicy sauces and seasonings, bakery items, peanut and pecan brittle, and meat jerky and other dried foods.

Festival hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 26 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 27.

Corner-booth spaces are guaranteed for all participating fine arts, crafts and gourmet product exhibitors. Exhibitors may choose from single, double, triple and quadruple booth spaces. In addition, the event features a friendly, supportive volunteer event staff, exhibitor awards, vendor welcome bags, overnight security and a hospitality booth where complimentary breakfast and coffee are provided to vendors each morning of the festival.

The Riverfest Referral Program, which allows arts and crafts exhibitors the opportunity to reduce their booth space fees by referring new participants to the show, will also continue this year. Information on referral incentives is available by contacting riverfestartsandcrafts@gmail.com or calling (770) 704-5991.

Applications are available for download on the League’s website and must be post-marked no later than May 1, 2015. The organizing committee works hard to create a diverse body of work and maintain the highest standards of selection with regard to artisanship and craftsmanship in the vendors chosen to participate in the festival. All work must be original, creative, quality and handmade by the exhibitor and must be suitable for a family-oriented show.

The juried show features more than 200 arts and crafts exhibitors, entertainers, children’s activities and concessions. It is the League’s flagship fundraising event, with all proceeds benefiting the needy children of Cherokee County. A $5 gate donation is suggested for patrons aged 11 and older. The event will take place rain or shine. Free parking and shuttle services are available. All areas are handicap accessible. Dogs are prohibited in the park by city ordinance.

Established in 1935, the Service League of Cherokee County is a volunteer group of 100 women who work year-round, collectively volunteering more than 10,000 hours per year to raise funds for local needy children.

Funds raised during this event and other fundraising events sponsored by the League provide necessities such as food, clothing, dental care, eyeglasses, medical care, scholarships and much more.
