Sheriff's Office Captain Graduates From FBI National Academy
Tommy Pinyan was one of 222 law enforcement officers from 48 states that graduated in the 266th Session.
CANTON, GA -- A captain with the Cherokee Sheriff's Office has graduated from the Federal Bureau of Investigation's National Academy.
Capt. Tommy Pinyan began his career with the Cherokee County in 1994, and currently serves as commander of the Criminal Investigations Division.
During the 10-week program at Quantico, Virginia, Pinyan successfully completed courses in Psychology of Leadership, Legal Issues for Command Level Officers, Drugs, Society and Contemporary Drug Enforcement Strategies, National Academy Networking and Enrichment, Forensic Science for Police Administrators and Managers, Media and Managing the Law Enforcement Image and Fitness for Law Enforcement.

All courses taught at the FBINA are accredited through the University of Virginia.

Included in the class were members of law enforcement agencies from the District of Columbia, 20 international countries, five military organizations and eight federal civilian organizations.
