Sheriff's Office Reminds Citizens of Reporting Procedures

Canton, GA -- Sheriff Roger Garrison is once again announcing the agency’s reporting procedures regarding commendations or allegations of misconduct by employees of the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office.

This announcement is done each year “to maintain integrity and ensure the public’s trust in the Cherokee Sheriff’s Office,” the agency said Friday.

Any citizen wanting to report incidents of misconduct by deputies or commend an employee of the sheriff’s office for exceptional job performance is urged to do so.

Incidents of misconduct include inappropriate language or gestures, threats, harassment and/or illegal activity. Corrective measures include verbal counseling, written reprimands, remedial training, suspension and termination.

Complaints or commendations should be reported to the employee’s supervisor or one of the following personnel:
