Society To Honor Man Who Brought Little League Baseball To Ball Ground
The event paying tribute to Raymond Cheshire will be held Oct. 27 at the Ball Ground Community Building.
The Ball Ground Historical Society will soon host an event to honor the man who taught the game of baseball to hundreds of boys.
The event, 50 Years of Youth Baseball in Ball Ground, will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 27 at the Ball Ground Community Building.
The event will also pay tribute to Raymond Cheshire, a life-long resident of Ball Ground who helped to bring Little League baseball to the city. He also coached hundreds of boys for nearly two decades from 1963 until 1981. The 78-year-old resident, who is retired, began the Cheshire Heating and Air Conditioning Company in 1961.
