Suspect Caught on Camera Taking Laptops, Hard Drives From Truck
An entering auto suspect took the items from a vehicle parked outside a home on Tanyard Street just outside downtown Canton.

The Canton Police Department is asking its citizens to help identify a suspect who was caught on camera taking several electronic items from a vehicle.
The suspect was captured around 5 a.m. Friday, Dec. 12 entering into a truck parked outside a home on Tanyard Street, which sits off East Main Street just outside of downtown Canton.
Taken from the truck were an Asus laptop, a Toshiba laptop, a Pelican computer bag and several hard drivers, Canton police said.

Lindsay Taylor, the victim in the case, said last week’s incident marks the second time in the last five months he was a victim of entering auto. Previously, Taylor had a handgun and an Apple iPod taken from his vehicle.
Surveillance footage captured outside Taylor’s home shows the suspect opening the truck’s passenger side door without force and sitting inside the truck while he rummages through the interior.

Friday’s incident is not the only one that’s occurred in the neighborhood, Taylor said. Over the past couple of months, at least three residential burglaries that have been reported to police, he added.
Taylor, who said he often travels for work, said he is worried about the safety of his wife and child. For example, his wife went outside to leave for work just 15 minutes after the suspect was on the scene.
“If she would have walked up on this guy, what would he have done?” he asked.
Taylor said he plans to offer a $500 reward for anyone who provides Canton police with information leading to the capture of the suspect.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Drew Henson at dhenson@canton-georgia.com or 770-720-4883.
