CANTON, GA -- Three teenagers have been charged with robbing a resident at an apartment complex in Canton.

Detectives have charged Canton residents Channon A. Hooks and Emory Montroy, both 17, and Chandler D. Lanier, 17, of Woodstock, each with armed robbery in connection to a Jan. 12 incident.

Officers were dispatched to a call of an armed robbery at the Lancaster Ridge Apartments, which are located off Lakeview Drive north of Riverstone Parkway.

Police arrived and met with the individual, who said he was robbed at gunpoint of his personal items by two male suspects.

According to Canton police, the victim told officers he "drove toward the suspects in his vehicle as they fled but they moved out of the way before he struck a vehicle in the parking lot of the apartments."

Detectives began their investigation, and interviewed additional witnesses. That follow-up led to the identification of three persons of interests "who were deemed to be responsible for the armed robbery," Canton police added.

More than a week later, Canton police on Jan. 21 received a call that one male returned home after he was reported missing a day earlier. He was taken into custody without incident.

On Jan. 25, police conducting undercover surveillance on Oakside Drive came upon the second suspect and took him into custody. Additional information led to the arrest of the third and final suspect.

"Our officers and detectives were able to thoroughly put the pieces of the puzzle together in this investigation to ensure the suspects involved were taken into custody," said Canton Police Chief Mark Mitchell. "Their diligence ensured a safe and successful resolution to this criminal activity."

Along with the armed robbery charge, Lanier is also charged with probation violation while Montroy faces possession of marijuana less than an ounce charge.

All three remain held without bond at the Cherokee County Adult Detention Center.
