Motorists who will have to utilize Interstate 575 in northern Cobb and southern Cherokee counties may want to find an alternate route this weekend.

That’s because the Georgia Department of Transportation will close one northbound and one southbound lane on the thoroughfare from the Bells Ferry Road interchange to the S.R. 92 interchange.
The closure will go into effect nightly from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Friday, Nov. 13 through Monday, Nov. 16.

Residents should slow down and proceed through this area with caution, as workers and heavy equipment will be in close proximity to the roadway.
