'Voice of Cherokee County' To Speak To Ball Ground Historical Society
Byron Dobbs will serve as the organization's guest speaker at its meeting, which will be held at 7 p.m. Feb. 28.

BALL GROUND, GA -- The man dubbed the voice of Cherokee County will speak to the Ball Ground Historical Society later this month.
Byron Dobbs will be the guest speaker at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 28 during the organization's meeting at Ball Ground City Hall.
Dobbs, a lifelong resident of Cherokee County has served the community through his work in broadcast journalist for more than 50 years.

In January, he was named the First Citizen of Cherokee County for 2017 by the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce.
A native of Woodstock and a lifelong resident of Cherokee County for 82 years, Dobbs retired from radio station WCHK in 1998 after 40 years and today works at WLJA 101.1 FM which he and business associate Randy Gravley own their corporation, Tri-State Communications.

Throughout the years, Dobbs has been involved with a variety of local organizations including the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, Cherokee County Historical Society, Sequoyah Regional Library Board, emeritus director of the Cherokee Sports Hall of Fame, honorary member of Ellijay Rotary Club, Reinhardt University's A Day Committee, the Cherokee Clean & Beautiful Commission and organizer of the Easter Community Sunrise Service at Cherokee Memorial Park which continues today.
Membership in the Ball Ground Historical Society is open to all who cherish our local history. Members of BGHS hope many others will mark their calendars and join us for what is sure to be a memorable evening.
