Woman Found Dead Under Bridge Along I-575
Police received a call early Friday morning that the resident jumped from the Sharpe Mountain Creek bridge in northern Cherokee County.

BALL GROUND, GA -- The body of woman was discovered early Friday morning under a bridge over Interstate 575, the Cherokee Sheriff's Office said.
Deputies responded to a call around 6:42 a.m. May 27 that "someone had jumped from the Sharpe Mountain Creek bridge on the northbound lane of 575," said spokesperson Lt. Jay Baker.
The bridge over Sharpe Mountain Creek is situated between Exit 24/Airport Drive and Exit 27/Howell Bridge Road.

Those deputies arrived on the scene and found a vehicle parked on the bridge and a 35-year-old woman deceased under the structure from an apparent suicide, Baker said.
The identity of the woman is not being released at this time, and there is no indication of foul play, Baker added. He also said there was one witness to the incident, a motorist who was traveling southbound on I-575 at the time.
