Woman Identified in Fatal Wreck Near Canton

A woman died in wreck early Saturday on Interstate 575, blocking traffic for several hours, according to media reports.

Kristen Adams, of Jasper, was pronounced dead on the scene, according to WSBTV.

Troopers allege Adams struck a tractor trailer head-on as her silver Toyota Corolla that was traveling south in the northbound lanes between Ball Ground and Canton, according to 11Alive.

The driver of the tractor trailer was transported to an area hospital.

Georgia State Patrol is still investigating the wreck and a drug/alcohol test is pending.
