Woman Injured In Fight At Canton Apartment Complex

CANTON, GA -- A woman suffered a cut to her arm in a fight reported late Wednesday evening at an apartment complex in Canton.

Officers were dispatched around 10:38 p.m. May 31 to a fight in progress call at Alexander Ridge Apartments at 400 Alexander Ridge. They arrived on the scene to find "there had been some type of physical altercation" and a woman who suffered a laceration to the forearm as well as trauma to her jaw and head, Canton police said early Thursday evening.

The woman was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Meanwhile Canton police detectives launched their investigation, gathering witness statements and evidence that led to the identification of a suspect.

Canton police note detectives are searching for the suspect, and will seek to charge the person responsible for the attack.
