Anheuser-Busch Ships Drinking Water To Louisiana Flood Victims

The brewery in Cartersville, Ga., is stepping up to help residents affected by the worst disaster since Superstorm Sandy.

CARTERSVILLE, GA -- Anheuser-Busch's brewery in Cartersville is once again lending a hand to residents who've been drastically affected by Mother Nature's wrath.

The north Georgia facility is sending five truck loads -- more than 200,000 cans -- of emergency drinking water to flood victims in Baton Rouge and Lafayette, Louisiana.

The Cartersville outpost is a key national facility due to its capacity to produce cans of emergency drinking water, and has stepped up after several major national disasters already, the company said.

The water is expected to start arriving on Wednesday in Baton Rouge and will be distributed by the American Red Cross.

The Red Cross advises the Louisiana floods are the worst disaster in the United States since Superstorm Sandy, causing over 10,000 Americans to seek refuge at Red Cross Shelters so far. The situation is life threatening, with many areas still inaccessible and more rain predicted.

The donation is an example of the growing trend of iconic American companies doing more than donating money in times of emergency.

This donation brings Anheuser-Busch’s 2016 total to more than 1 million cans of emergency drinking water following natural disasters, including several large donations to areas around Baton Rouge hit by deadly tornadoes in February, and recently in regions of California hit by major wildfires.
