A popular Cartersville restaurant performed a lot better on its most recent food service inspection conducted by the Bartow County Environmental Health Department.

Ate Track Bar & Grill scored a 92, or A, on its follow-up inspection held June 8. The follow-up was needed, as the eatery failed its June 1 inspection with a 55, or U.
On the latest report, the inspector made note of the following:

- As noted on previous inspection, observed food uncovered exposed to contamination. Corrective action: discussed with person in charge about all food must be covered if not being used.
- Observed food contact surfaces (pans) encrusted with grease and/or soil deposits used to for inverted glass storage. Corrective action: discussed with PIC about cleaning frequency of food contact surfaces.
- Observed non working thermometer in cold hold units. Corrective action: discussed with PIC to have working thermometers in all food cold holding units.
- Observed wet stacking of equipment, and utensils not properly air-dried. Corrective action: discussed with PIC proper air drying procedures.
On the June 1 report, the inspector cited the restaurant located at 25 North Wall Street for employees prepping food without proper gloves, cold food held at temperatures greater than 41 degrees, food observed with the expiration date of May 18, 2015, and employees wearing more than one ring and using cell phones in the kitchen, prep and serving areas, among other items.
