Delta Sigma Theta Atlanta Alumnae Chapter Heart Walk & Health Fair Today at Greenbriar Mall until 2 p.m.

The Atlanta  Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated to Hosts Its 35th  Annual Health Fair, Heart Walk Saturday, April 13 at Greenbriar Mall Atlanta,  GA

 The  Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated will host  its 35th Annual Health Fair and 9th Annual From The Heart Walk on Saturday,  April 13,  at Greenbriar Mall. The walk will begin at 8:00am  following registration  and warm-up at 7:30am. The  Health Fair will begin immediately after the walk from 10:00am-2:00pm, and  will include free screenings for diabetes, high blood pressure, dental,  cholesterol.It will also provide health education information on breast care as  well as numerous health and wellness resources.Vendors such as the Fulton County  Department of Health and Wellness, Alzheimer’s Association, Grady Health Center  Infectious Disease Program, Humana, FootFittR Diabetic Foot Wear,  and many more will be on hand to provide health care  screenings. Founded  in 1913, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, is a non-profit organization  with more than 250,000 initiated members who have provided assistance and  support through established programs in local communities throughout the world.  The sorority is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year.The Atlanta Alumnae Chapter, under the leadership of its president Camille Smith  Zeigler, continues to be a dynamic and vital force in the development and  implementation of outstanding public service programs and projects, which have  benefited the Atlanta  community. The chapter supports the needs of high school seniors with annual  scholarships. In 2011, the chapter was the top fundraising team in Georgia for the  19th Annual Walk to End Alzheimer’s, raising more than $20,000  to help find a cure for this disease that affects nearly 5.4 million  Americans.
