Cascade UMC Distributes Over 900 Thanksgiving Boxes to the Community

Recipients received a week's worth of groceries and Thanksgiving Dinner

Cascade United Methodist Church’s New Advent Choir continued their tradition in the southwest Atlanta community by distributing a week’s worth of groceries as well as Thanksgiving dinner to more than 900 families Mondayβ€”up from 600 families in 2012.

β€œThis is our largest outreach project of the year, says Pastor Marvin Moss, Senior Pastor, Cascade United Methodist Church, β€œthe need continues to grow each year, we opened our lines to receive names for this year’s event and reached 900 families in less than two weeks. Β These numbers speak to the urgent need in our community.”

The recipients of the Thanksgiving baskets are from the Cascade corridor schools, non-profit organizations; those served through Cascade United Methodist Church ministries, and others within the Atlanta communities who have expressed a need.Β
