Art Historian R. Candy Tate will present a lecture on African-American painter Jacob Lawrence (1917-2000) and his lithograph series, The John Brown Series. The John Brown series consists of 22 panels narrating the story of Abolitionist John Brown. Brown believed it was his mission to overthrow Black slavery in America.
