Art Historian R. Candy Tate will present a lecture on African-American painter Jacob Lawrence (1917-2000) and his lithograph series, The John Brown Series, which is 22 panels narrating the story of Abolitionist John Brown.
Brown believed it was his mission to overthrow Black slavery in America. Come see this permanent collection and hear this great speaker.
The collection was reframed and re-matted with a grant funded by the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library Foundation. All programs are free and open to the public.
