Tonight, (7-2) suits up for the finale of the 2011 regular season with their playoff position in tact and hopes of maintaining its hold on a No. 3 seed. The Raiders will clinch this spot with a win over visiting Chamblee at Lakewood Stadium. Game time is slated for 8 p.m.
Mays looks to bounce back after being blanked on the road at Marist 24-0, which dropped it to third place in Region 6-AAAA.

Outside of its two losses versus top-10 programs Tucker and Marist, Mays has dominated the competition in 2011. The Raiders have won all of their games by double figures, including opening the year at 5-0.
There are two scenarios during which Mays can clinch a No. 3 seed in the Class AAAA playoffs. The Raiders will earn this spot outright by taking care of business with a win over Chamblee. They can also finish third in the region with a loss, and if Southwest DeKalb falls versus Lithonia.

While it’s still undetermined as to who it will face, Mays will open the postseason on the road on Nov. 11.
Wait till next year
Over at (4-5), the Lions and their fans have thoughts of would’ve, could’ve, should’ve dancing through their heads as they lament and prepare for the offseason.
Throughout the 2011 season, Westlake has been consistent at playing inconsistent.
The Lions opened the year at 2-0, but then hit a dry spell and dropped four straight. The team has since found a small groove, winning two of three and stand a victory shy of finishing at 5-5.
Westlake hopes to achieve this mark with a triumph over visiting Langston Hughes on Senior Night. Not only will a win send the seniors out in style, but it will serve as a building block for the underclassmen, and help the Lions avoid finishing with a sub .500 record in consecutive seasons.
