Rise ‘N Shine: A Breakfast To Champion Older Adults

Is Atlanta ready for the rapid growth of its senior population?

Atlanta, GA – Is Atlanta ready for the rapid growth of its senior population? That will be a topic of discussion at National Church Residences’ inaugural Rise ‘N Shine: A Breakfast To Champion Older Adults. The event will be , on Wednesday, May 16, 2018 from 7:30 am – 9:30 am at the Loudermilk Conference Center, 40 Courtland Street, Atlanta, GA 30303.

In 2018, Atlanta ranked as one of the fastest growing aging populations in America. A report by the Atlanta Regional Commission’s Atlanta Area Agency on Aging notes that by 2030, people over age 60 will make up more than 20 percent of the city’s population. That’s double what that age demographic is today. The event will feature Dr. Jim Johnson, an expert in business demographics.

“The needs of this ever-growing older population will eventually force the city to address issues like transportation options to allow accessibility for those who may become less mobile, as well as options for maintaining affordable housing for seniors as they retire from the workforce,” said National Church Residences Executive Vice President of External Affairs and Strategic Initiatives Michelle Norris. “National Church Residences is starting the conversation.”
