Spelman College will host a presentation by 2016 Distinguished Visiting Scholar Dianne McIntyre on Wednesday, Sept. 23 at 6 p.m. McIntyre is an internationally-recognized dancer, choreographer and arts historian.
Since 1972, McIntyre has choreographed scores of concert dances, four Broadway shows, 30 regional theatre productions, a London West End musical, three feature films, three television productions, stage movement for recording artists and five original full-length dance dramas. World renowned dance companies such as Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, Philadanco!, Cleo Park Robinson Dance, GroundWorks Dance Theater, Dancing Wheels, Dallas Black Dance Theatre, as well as more than 40 university ensembles and major dance festivals have commissioned her choreography and teaching residencies.
McIntyreβs presentation βDancing on Solid Ground: Reflections of a Choreographerβs Journey,β will be held in the John D. Rockefeller Fine Arts Building, Baldwin Burroughs Auditorium (GPS Address: 440 Westview Drive, Atlanta 30310). Following the presentation, there will be a reception in the Camilla Olivia Hanks Cosby, Ed.D. Academic Center lobby.
