Spelman Cosby Chair Presents 'Where People Gather: Hip-Hop, Activism and Innovation'

Aku Kadogo will host a conversation with arts activist Marc Bamuthi Joseph titled, "Where People Gather: Hip-Hop, Activism and Innovation."

Spelman College’s Cosby Chair Aku Kadogo will host a special conversation with arts activist Marc Bamuthi Joseph titled, β€œWhere People Gather: Hip-Hop, Activism and Innovation.” on Tuesday, Nov. 18, at 6 p.m. One of America’s vital voices in performance, arts education and artistic curation, Joseph is the artistic director of the seven-part HBO documentary β€œRussell Simmons Presents Brave New Voices,” and is an inaugural recipient of the United States Artists Rockefeller Fellowship, which annually recognizes 50 of the country’s β€œgreatest living artists.” He is currently completing new works for the Philadelphia Opera and South Coast Repertory Theater while serving as director of performing arts at Yerba Buena Center for the Arts. Free and open to the public, the conversation will be held in the Cosby Auditorium.
