Spelman College Museum of Fine Art hosts the Atlanta Premiere of Maren Hassinger's "Women's Work"

In a special collaborative effort, Spelman College Museum of Fine Art and the Women’s Research & Resource Center will host the Atlanta premiere of Maren Hassinger’s meditative performance Women’s Work Friday, March 20, at 7 p.m. During the performance Hassinger, a sculptor, performance artist, and the director of the Rinehart School of Sculpture at the Maryland Institute and College of Art, and others will repetitively manipulate newspaper, alluding to sewing, knitting, and other forms traditionally labeled women’s work. The performance is held in conjunction with the Women’s Center’s 14th annual Toni Cade Bambara Scholar-Activism Conference.
