63 DUI Arrests, Forsyth Deputy Shares Dec Stats

​The Forsyth County Sheriff's Office provides an update on December, 2017 statistics, including 63 DUI arrests.

CUMMING, GA — Deputy Thomas, of the Forsyth County Sheriff's Office, provided an update and crime statistics Friday for December 2017.

Thomas said there were 63 DUI arrests in December and reminded the public that there are never any warnings for a DUI offense. "If you drive drunk, we will catch you and you will go to jail," she said.

There were 673 traffic accidents; 25 illegal entering auto cases and 32 burglaries.

On Dec. 12, the sheriff's office participated in Shop with a Cop at the Cumming Walmart. Deputies shopped with more than 130 children.

On Dec. 14, deputies and the Forsyth Fire Department participated in the Toys For Tots toy drive.

On Dec. 23, Fraternal Order Of Police Lodge #82 held a bucket drive for injured deputy Rod Reeves. One hundred percent of the money gathered went to Rod Reeves and his family. On Nov. 18, Reeves was struck by a suspected drunk driver while patrolling GA Highway 400. Reeves will start physical therapy in February.

On Dec. 28, the Sons of the American Revolution awarded a deputy a Law Enforcement Accommodation Medal. The medal is presented to those have served with distinction and devotion and to recognize exceptional service and accomplishments in the field of law enforcement.
