77-Year-Old Woman Dies Days After 2-Car Crash
A 77-year-old Cumming woman died June 5 after she was re-admitted to the hospital for internal injuries, police say.

FORSYTH COUNTY, GA — A 77-year-old Cumming woman died June 5 after she was re-admitted to the hospital for internal injuries believed to have been sustained in an accident several days earlier, police say.
Sadra Mettee died days after being in a two-car accident May 26, on Buford Highway and the 400 Northbound on-ramp.
The Forsyth County Sheriff`s Office and Fire Department say, according to an initial investigation, a 2016 Nissan Altima, operated by Thomas Wright, 49, of Sandy Springs, failed to yield on a flashing yellow turn arrow and turned left from eastbound Buford Highway toward the Highway 400 northbound on ramp and into the path of a westbound 2007 Hyundai Sonata, driven by Mettee.

Thomas Wright was not injured in the collision; his passenger, Betty Wright, 76, of Marietta, was treated for minor injuries on the scene. Mettee had some visible injuries, but only complained of minor pain. Mattee was transported to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
On the morning of June 4, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that Mattee had been re-admitted to the hospital for internal injuries believed to have been sustained in the accident.

At that time, the case was reopened and the Traffic Specialist Unit took on a follow-up investigation.
On the morning of June 5, the Sheriff’s Office was notified that Mattee had passed away.
The case remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office Traffic Specialist Unit.
