A Wonderful Movie Experience in Alpharetta!

Yesterday I had the pleasure of seeing a movie in the new AMC North Point Mall 12 Cinema in Alpharetta - and what an experience it was!  When you purchase a ticket, you are purchasing a specific seat much like you do when you buy a ticket to a concert.  We had to go to the customer service desk to pick our tickets up because the person in our group who had pre-bought our tickets on-line inadvertently purchased them for the previous night.  (She was alerted to this fact when she got an email asking how we liked the show.)  The manager corrected our error without any additional charge to us.  

As we were making our way to our theater, we noticed the extensive menu at the snack bar.  In addition to the usual fare, you can also order chicken tenders, pizza, mozzarella sticks and more.  There is also an inviting bar where you can order beer, wine and cocktails - which can be brought into the theater or drank at the bar.  It's a perfect date-night location!!

Once we got to our theater, we were amazed by the plush power-recliners for each guest in our theater.  With the touch of a button, the leg rest smoothly lifted up.  If you needed a little more relaxation, the leg rest extends further out and the back reclines.  The comfort was incredible and it was a good thing that the movie was great or there would have been lots of people snoring in those chairs.

The cost for a movie in this theater is slightly higher than other theaters.  We paid $12 per person for an evening show.  The early shows cost $8.  There is currently an IMAX theater at AMC North Point and they will be adding a large-screen format in early 2014. There are 12 theaters and about 1100 seats.

On a side note, one of us is hearing impaired.  The theater provided free-of-charge a close-captioning devise as well as a headset for sound amplification.  It worked wonderfully and made for a very enjoyable movie experience for her!
