
The Lanier Technical College Foundation has announced Brandy Bartlett, a student in the Design and Media Production Technology Program at Lanier Technical College is the 2012 recipient of the Herbert Ascott (Buddy) Lang, Jr. Memorial Scholarship.
The scholarship was created by family and friends to honor Buddy Lang, a lifelong resident and active philanthropist in Forsyth County. He was the President and CEO of Lang Signs, Inc., a sign manufacturing facility established in 1929. He was passionate about continuing education and providing opportunities for others to succeed in an industry he greatly loved. Unique to this scholarship is the potential opportunity for a paid internship in graphic design at Lang Signs, Inc.

During the 2011-2012 academic year, the Lanier Technical College Foundation awarded 283 students a total of $113,591 in scholarships.
The mission of Lanier Technical College is workforce development. With over 3,200 jobs added in the college’s service area since 2011, it is vital that Lanier Tech be able to provide job training and a skilled workforce to fill employers’ needs.
